“1858 Steamboat Disaster in St. Louis” by Jan Wenk”. She will present a program on the race and subsequent disaster that involved the Ocean Spray Steamboat and the steamboat engineer, her ancestor. Jan Wenk, a genealogist with 30 years of experience, is the Monroe County Illinois Genealogical Society President. The program will be presented in the Monroe County History Museum’s Allscheid-Metzger Gallery located at 724 Elaine Drive, Waterloo, IL 62298.
