Presented by Eddie Price. This program shows how deeply Kentuckians were involved in the War of 1812 – economically, politically, militarily and emotionally. Kentucky lost 64% of all Americans killed in the war. Without adequate arms and funding, Kentuckians answered the final call to defend New Orleans. The epic battle on the sugarcane plantations below that city provided redemption for the young American nation and for a state seeking to shed its pioneer image to become one of the more influential states in the union. Mr. Price’s novel tells this story.
