Kloepper is a game featuring 24 cards and played by four people in teams of two. Originating in Germany, the game Schafskopf or Sheepshead was played over 500 years ago and was brought by German immigrants to the United States wherever they settled. While being similar to the Euchre card game, Schafskopf was altered slightly in Monroe County being called Kloepper.
