40 Years War

Presented by Dennis Byrne. To have a great comeback, you’ve first got to have been so far behind that just surviving seems nearly impossible.  This is Mr. Byrne’s analogy of the War of 1812 and is supported by his writings. How did the US overcome such things as indecisiveness on the part of Congress, untrained troops, incompetence and laziness in the Army’s senior Officer Ranks, the outrages of Generals Hull and Wilkinson, and still hang on long enough to wear down the British to finally gain our complete independence from British Rule. Mr. Byrne is a contributing op-ed columnist for the Chicago Tribune and a Chicago-based freelance writer and editor.
